Whoa! The former Iraqi information minister Mohammed Saeed al-Sahaf is alive and well. I thought he was reported to have offed himself. Cool. Anyone who can, in comparison, make Fox News Network seem 'fair and balanced' must be kept alive for the entertainment value alone.

    Wanna be a parent?
I think people who want to have kids should. However, I think a lot of people who are less sure should check out this condom commercial. Priceless...

Could someone explain to me how giving tax cuts would stimulate our current economy? This article mentions Bush saying ''And American workers and American businesses need every bit of that relief now, so that people who want to find a job can find one.''. If I understand things, giving companies tax relief will make them decide to hire more workers or scale up production of products/services. On the other side, giving individuals tax cuts will have them desire more consumption and spending.

This would seem true if our country was 'consumption-poor'. Like our companies are underproducing things that consumers need (well want -- how much do we really need). It seems right now that our country is producing plenty. Consumers may be spending less due to ecomonmic outlook, but there is no fundamental shortage of products to buy. Because of this I cannot see how this can help the country as a whole. We will increase our deficit and people who 'have' will get a little more and the rest (the 'have-nots') will buy a happy meal with their tax break.

Maybe my mood should be cynical.
